Prokofiev & Brahms: Triumph & Tragedy

with the Longmont Symphony Orchestra

Sharon Roffman returns to Longmont to perform Brahms’ beloved Violin Concerto, and your Longmont Symphony performs one of Prokofiev’s most enduring works, Symphony No. 5. Composed in 1944 as Russian troops were advancing on Nazi forces, this symphony expresses heroism, tragedy, and the resilience of the human spirit.

Music Through Storytelling

The ability to create characters out of music lies at the heart of Tommy's performance philosophy. The sound of the horn can be evocative of many different settings and characters, and Tommy harnesses this drama in his playing.
